Amsterdam offers a wide selection of city passes and tourist cards such as the official I Amsterdam City Card and the Amsterdam Pass. Some of these tourist passes are very cost-effective for saving money or avoiding queues at museums and attractions. In this article, we compare all the advantages and disadvantages of the Amsterdam City Pass, travel cards and other tickets for tourists. Which Amsterdam Pass is worth it?
1) I Amsterdam City Card
At the very top of the list is the official I Amsterdam City Card. This city pass is a very comprehensive card that gives you free access to more than 70 museums and attractions, including icons such as the Rijksmuseum, A’DAM Lookout, and the Rembrandt House. In addition, you can travel unlimitedly on public transport and a free canal cruise is included. Essentially, this Amsterdam city pass includes all the important tickets for your city trip (only the Anne Frank House and the Van Gogh Museum are still missing as top attractions). All tickets can easily be used via the app, but for some attractions you will need to reserve a time slot in advance.

4) Go City Amsterdam Pass

5) Individual entry tickets
Sometimes, it can be more cost-effective to purchase individual admission tickets for Amsterdam attractions. In Amsterdam, it is highly recommended to buy tickets for popular attractions such as the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and the Anne Frank House in advance. For the Rijksmuseum, it is advisable to book online to avoid waiting times, especially during the high season. The same applies to the Van Gogh Museum, which is sometimes sold out weeks in advance.
